Pet Therapy

Dogs, with their unconditional love & acceptance, can be a wonderful source of joy for anyone, but especially for seniors. That’s why Congregational Home is so proud to have our 20+ Year Partnership with the Pets Helping People Organization, a non-profit organization that specializes in training dogs for Pet Therapy or AAI, Animal Assisted Interventions. PHP holds classes onsite here for Pet Therapy dogs-in-training & their human parents, and Congregational Home residents get to watch & become part of the learning process – how fun! Congregational Home also has regular dog visits from the likes of Clover & Miller, as well as visits through our Hug-A-Pup Program where our staff bring in their own dogs for the work day to visit with residents. We also encourage residents’ family and friends to bring in their pets for visits, as long as they have a good temperament & updated vaccination records.
