COVID Policy

Effective 1-1-24

Congregational Home’s COVID Policy follows the long-term care directives handed down by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the state Department of Health Services. Our COVID Policy is subject to change should any new directives require it.

Visitation:  Congregational Home is open for visitation.  There are no set visiting hours; visitors may come at any time.  There is no limit to the number of visitors or age of visitors.  We ask that you please not visit if you have COVID symptoms or suspect you have been exposed to COVID.  While it is not recommended for safety reasons, residents in quarantine have the right to receive visitors.

Masks:  Visitors & residents may use their own judgement as to whether they want to wear a mask in our building or not, however, if you are entering the room of a resident in quarantine, it is recommended you wear a mask and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  In turn, it is also recommended the resident in quarantine wear a mask when others are in their room.

AdmissionsCongregational Home does not knowingly admit COVID positive residents in the early stages of the infection.  Ten days must have passed from when a resident first tests positive for COVID before they can be admitted, as one is no longer considered infectious after 10 days.

Quarantine:  A 10-day quarantine is required for residents that test positive for COVID. In addition, any resident exhibiting signs / symptoms of COVID will be placed in quarantine until COVID and other communicable diseases, such as Influenza & RSV, can be ruled out.  While in quarantine, a resident must stay in their room; all care & services will be brought to them.
