Couples Stay Together!  We have a Rare Dual License that allows Independent Living & Assisted Living in the same apartment. WITHOUT this Dual License, Independent & Assisted Living would have to be provided in separate areas, causing a couple with two different levels of care to be split up or an individual to have to move when they transition from Independent to Assisted Living.

Congregational Home’s Assisted Living is designed to be a bridge between Independent Living and Skilled Nursing Home Care, for those that are still able to live behind closed doors in their own apartment and are still able to do some things for themselves.  For the things you need help with, that’s where we come in.

We recognize that among Assisted Living residents, there are differing levels of care needs and that’s why we are expanding our Assisted Living options from only RCAC care to also including CBRF care, and we can help the resident & family determine which of our 2 Assisted Living programs is best for them.  

RCAC (Residential Care Apartment Complex):

•  RCAC’s are generally for Assisted Living residents who are higher functioning & needing less care than CBRF residents.

•  RCAC’s provide up to 4 hours per day or 28 hours per week of combined Skilled Nursing and Supportive Personal Care.

•  RCAC’s can’t admit residents who are deemed mentally incapacitated.* However, if an RCAC resident is deemed mentally incapacitated* after admission, they can remain in the RCAC as long as they are safe in that environment.

CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility, Class CNA):

•  CBRF’s are generally for Assisted Living residents who are lower functioning & needing more care than RCAC residents.

•  CBRF’s provide up to 3 hours of Skilled Nursing Care per week.

•  CBRF’s can admit residents who are deemed mentally incapacitated.*

*Mentally Incapacitated means the resident is unable to make their own medical decisions and has a Healthcare Power of Attorney that is Activated (a separate form signed by 2 doctors) or a Guardianship signed by a judge.
